Introduction
Since 1992, Curti Impresa Edile and Curti Costruzioni have been a benchmark for prestigious real estate properties on Lake Como. The client requested the development of a platform to manage short-term rentals for some of their luxury villas and apartments, essentially a small “Airbnb”.

Activities and goals

The initial phase of the project focused on analyzing the optimal technical approach to rapidly and cost-effectively develop a platform for managing short-term rentals.
The feasibility study aimed to identify the most effective solutions, considering the complexities and resources involved in developing an online infrastructure for managing bookings, calendars, payment integrations, and other key functionalities.

Once the optimal plugin and configuration were identified, the project proceeded with defining the content structure and navigation, and creating a high-definition prototype of the user interface. 
I handled the property research and presentation part, including iconographic research for all offered services and studying the design system, especially for customizing the core part of the project—namely, the booking and payment process.

Regarding user experience, insights from stakeholder interviews informed the adoption of best practices and mental models from leading platforms in the industry.
This, coupled with swift execution, played a crucial role in enabling the client to start receiving bookings immediately after the platform went live at the beginning of the summer season.

From a technical standpoint, Curti Rentals’ short-term rental platform, available in English and German, integrates with all Google tools for traffic analysis, conversions, and site optimization, as well as with PayPal for payments.
